Employees collecting order

Post by parvej64 »

Manual order picking This is picking that does not require the use of specialized infrastructure or machines; it is assumed that the employee travels on foot, the goods to be picked are within his immediate reach and all activities are performed manually. Semi-automatic order picking It combines both previously mentioned picking methods. It is based on performing activities manually (mainly regarding picking and putting away the goods), but also using trolleys, picking support systems e.g.

Warehouse automation devices (conveyors, stacker cranes, automatic horizontal and vertical racks, shuttle systems, etc.). Types of picking – implementation strategy Order picking can also be divided according to the adopted strategy for implementing the picking process. Depending on the needs and capabilities of a specific warehouse, these may include, for example: Single photo retouching order picking (pick by order) It is simply the picking of a single order by one person who, moving along the picking path, collects all the products belonging to a given order in one way. This is one of the most classic ways of picking goods. Multi-order picking It is the picking of goods for many orders at the same time, with the assumption that each order is collected into a separate picking unit.

This strategy generally allows to significantly reduce the need for an employee to move around the warehouse, orders are collected in one way, which significantly reduces the time needed for picking. In this case, the support of the WMS warehouse IT system is particularly useful, as it can combine orders into one list and create an optimal picking path, making it easier to pick and put away specific goods. Order picking in sections (zone picking) In this case, the warehouse is divided into picking sections (zones) to which are assigned. Two strategies are possible here: sequential or parallel picking. In the case of sequential picking, the picking unit is transferred successively between sections (zones), in the second case, the release order is divided into picking lists for individual sections (zones), in which collection takes place in parallel.
