According to the Brazilian Footwear Industry Sector Report , published in 2021 by Abicalçados , in 2020, 13 hubs were identified across six states in the country: Ceará, Paraíba, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

The pole is understood as “a person, point, area, installation or thing around which a certain important activity gravitates, or where a certain important activity is centered, or an interest whatsapp data centered, a group of people, etc.; center".
Therefore, a footwear hub represents regions where there is a large concentration of companies that create this type of product, in nearby municipalities.
In practice, states such as Bahia and Pernambuco have a significant production of footwear. However, a geographic dispersion of this production is notable. Therefore, these are places that are not identified as hubs. Only the production of each state as a whole is considered.
To choose a footwear hub, three factors are taken into consideration: the region's contribution to national production; the contribution of state production to the region's production; and the dispersion of production within the state.
